My first Emerging Leader Program.
My first Emerging Leader Program.
In 2015, I created my first emerging leader program with the overarching purpose to support aspiring people managers to develop the skills to allow them to lead people, processes and projects more effectively in alignment with our talent planning strategy.
The pilot was an exciting challenge – with an initial launch as a 12-week program that ran 1x/yr and included topics like historical business context, the future of the business, change management and difficult conversations that brought in key leaders from across the organization.
I led the evolution of the program, which eventually became a requirement for all incoming people managers, ran 2x/yr and necessitated an offshoot, called Leadership Boot Camp, for those interested in managing projects and processes but not people.
To this day, this program is close to my heart as the first people development program that I developed and owned (and is still running today!).
